You've already set up a coffee maker the night before. Maybe you've set a recurring reminder on your phone. You already understand the idea behind scheduled tasks — you're just doing it for the first time with an AI.

A scheduled task is a job you give Claude once, and it runs automatically on a schedule you choose. Every morning, every Monday, every first of the month — whatever makes sense.

Once it's set up, you don't have to remember. You don't have to log in. You don't have to do anything. Claude handles it on time, every time.

Examples of scheduled tasks

1

Weekly summary email draft — Every Friday afternoon, Claude drafts a summary of the week for you to review and send.

2

Monday morning pipeline check — Every Monday, Claude pulls your open leads from Odoo and gives you a status update.

3

Monthly report — On the first of every month, Claude generates a formatted report from your data.

4

Daily agenda — Every morning at 7am, Claude checks your calendar and gives you a briefing for the day.

Think about this: What's one thing you have to remember to do every week? How much time would you save if it just happened automatically?

In case you hear this term out there...

Scheduled task — A job set up to run automatically at a specific time or on a recurring schedule. Like a timer for an AI task.

Recurring — Something that repeats on a regular schedule — every day, every week, every month.

Set a task up once, and Claude handles it on schedule — no reminders, no manual work.
